FINE ART LANDSCAPES

IMG_0530.JPG

I am a published award winning photographer living in the Peak District.

I was artistic from an early age. This and a love of the outdoors led me to painting landscapes while at school. Over the years when the distractions of life took hold, I became interested in the digital era. I naturally embraced digital photography and together with a love of landscape my photography journey began in 2004.

Since then I've been fortunate enough to travel to some amazing countries.

However with so many great locations on the doorstep I don't need to travel far for good photo opportunities. I love  to capture the drama and atmosphere of the wide open vistas throughout the seasons. Most of my images are taken at the beginning or end of the day when the light is less harsh. For this reason I have a particular passion for winter landscapes where the light is soft throughout the day.

I don't set out to follow a specific style but try to embrace the scene that confronts me and respond to the elements as they arise . That's not to say there is no planning or pre-visualisation involved. My intention is to embrace the atmosphere of the locations I photograph and in turn transport the audience to that same place

If you are interested in any of my work I am available for commissions. I also run 1 to 1 workshops in and around the Peak District area.
